The Idaho Veteran's Parade will honor veterans' service during the Korean War on Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. in downtown Boise. The theme of 2023's parade is the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice.

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when communist North Korea invaded South Korea. After three years, the United States, the People's Republic of China, North Korea, and South Korea agreed to an armistice, signing it on July 27, 1953, and establishing a committee of representatives to decide the fate of thousands of prisoners of war on both sides.

The war cost millions of Korean and Chinese lives and almost 40,000 Americans.

The parade's mission is to recognize the sacrifices and honor the services of United States Armed Forces veterans.
